he iOS 8.0.1 update last night caused quite a few issues for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, causing Apple to pull the plug on the update. The company has now issued a workaround for users who busted their phones after updating to iOS 8.0.1.

The workaround essentially helps users downgrade their phones iOS 8. You will need a Windows PC or Mac, the latest version of iTunes, your phone cable and an Internet connection. Connect your broken phone to iTunes and first take a backup. You can then download the iOS 8 file for the respective phones here. Once you have downloaded the file, press the Option Key and click on Check for Updates on Mac or press the Shift key and click on Check for Updates on a Windows PC. Find the downloaded file and press update. Once you have followed these steps, your phone will be downgraded to iOS 8.

Apple has acknowledged the issue with the update and a spokesperson told Re/code, “We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue. And will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days.”
